In case anyone else out there hasn't heard of this

April 13-16 (many places extend the discount all month). It's not too late to book your service--the spa I went to on Tuesday was taking appointments while I was there.

$50 flat fee for many spa services that are typically much more expensive. Massages, facials, laser hair removal, spray tanning, hair services, acupuncture, microdermabrasion, teeth whitening, mani/pedis, body wraps, waxing.

**Please remember to tip your esthetician on the FULL cost of the service--they deserve it!**

(And it's in many major cities, not just New York.)

  1. I gave up on all these "Weeks" - spa, restaurant, etc - because they just scale back the service to match the special price (shorter massages at spas, smaller portions at restaurants). I don't really have a problem with this, it just makes it less of a deal to go out of my way for. These things were so much better a few years ago...sigh.

  2. I totally agree with you about restaurant week--I never found any value in it whatsoever. I can do better with a gift certificate any time.

I do find spa week to be really valuable, though. I shop around carefully and check prices on the spa's websites, so I make sure I'm getting what I find to be the best deal. I don't even bother with a place that offer a 40 minute massage for $50--but a place that offers 60 miuntes plus a mani/pedi? Yes, please!
