OKCupid did a comparison of their members' profiles to come up with cultural demarcation points across race and gender. It's ripe for abuse, but I think they did an excellent job with it.

I particularly find it interesting the things people say to describe themselves and how common certain things are among people to self-identify with a certain race. Overall, I actually found the results heartening -- partly because there are a lot of books (great books!) listed as things that inspire people.
